Devilin McJersey is a Jersey-Devil-like demon from the Demon Realm. He is the head of Devilin Steamworks, a business outside the Boiling Isles that hogs all Lovecraftium, a holy metallic alloy created by the world's native race, the Lovecraftian Mi-Go, to fight against Outer Gods, especially Mischievers and their ruler Azathoth. Though he is often in a mellow and professional mood, even gentlemanly, Devilin suffers from easily provoked anger if things do not go accordingly, inheriting it from his troubled past as the Jersey Devil of Luz's Earth, of which unlike typical Jersey Devils, his birth was actselly cursed by a Mischiver to be like this, this Mischiver being known as Azzholos, a Mischiever implied to be responsible for the existence of cryptids everywhere in the Multiverse. When Devilin escaped to the Demon Realm to avoid prosecution, he earned the sympathy of its residence as he returned to his true hometown of Aira in the Dreamlands, which had protected themselves from Azzholos by having the ability to become fictional and non-fictional with the right spell. The people of Aira admit that the realm was once a byproduct of Mischivers and that they rebelled from them, leading to the rise of his company and vow of making all Outers pay for what one Mischiver, and a devient no less, did, proving his worth by earning grand achievements like taking down a Xzar turned into a Mischiever, exterminating an entire Wiper hive, cut off a Quantum Eater's wings, intimidate an Edgewall Guard, send a Destroid to the Hibernation Realm for an indeterminate amount of eons, and scar Cthylla with a Lovecraftium dagger. He also survived a fight against a horrifying Infinity Librarian which cost him one of his arms and had it replaced with a Lovecraftium prosthetic arm. He aimed to gain control of Luz Noceda in expecting she would reach 0-Brave status after the impact left behind a recent 0-Brave Star Butterfly, basically being the first one to be after her before the Conformity even began to start doing so equally. But eventually, Luz has a fateful duel with him so that, after he melts down Eda's family Lovecraftium coin, she can obtain a weapon capable of fending off Outer Gods: A Lovecraftium sword identical to her toy sword. Eda and Devilin were once a very much-in-love couple, even having Eda's sympathies. But Devilin's desires to go after all Outers, even ones that had nothing to do with his blight, were too much for Eda to look over and cope with, thus, the two broke up, leaving Devilin an even more bitter mess as a result.
