Kipo Oak
Kipo Oak is the titular main protagonist of the Netflix series Kipo and the Age of Wonderbeasts. She is a part-mutant human with purplish skin and pink hair who was raised in burrows where most humans lived after the surface became dominated by mutants called 'mutes'. She inherited mute genetics from her mother which gives her the abilities of a mega-jaguar including night-vision, great physical strength, and feline agility and speed.
Biography[]
Kipo grew up in the burrows under Las Vistas where she was predominantly raised by her father Lio, from whom she learned a great deal about natural sciences, music, and climbing. She was told that her mother had passed away (from a made-up disease called Burrow pox) but really her mother had side effects from Kipo being part mute while pregnant, turning into the Mega Monkey.
Kipo Mega-Jaguar Form
One day while Kipo and Lio are climbing, a mega mute attacks their underground burrow. Lio throws Kipo into the canal to save her. He intends to follow his daughter through the canals to the surface but is blocked by falling rocks. From there she continues her adventure to find her father by making new friends and working to save her home from the evil Scarlemagne.
Role in the series[]
The mutes all over the world of Kipo are the result of a threat of Outer God origin called The Omni-Freak, the first mute ever created, and from it's creators, kaiju-sized mantis beings called the Biotiens, who have mastered Outer-God-level manipulation and have even been controlled by Gaiantators to change yet another variant of Earth to deviate it from real-life Earth. Kipo discovers this from new friends in the form of Trista Hylander, Star Butterfly, Anne Boonchuy, Luz Noceda, and many more new friends.
