Rainbow Dash makes a new friend after meeting Derpy's family: Whizzer, a friend of Derpy's little sister Bubbles, as Whizzer wished to do something special as Bubbles was good at one thing: blowing bubbles. She was also an enthusiastic swimmer, both of which Whizzer was not good at. Though she later became a fan of Rainbow Dash and wanted to do one thing: fly, even though he is an Earth pony. Though he is constantly in a state of denial as he is told over and over that it's not possible, he discovers through forbidden means of another legend: Divine Step, an Earth pony who discovered Unicorn and Pegasus magic and allowed him to do both their capabilities, and thus ran away to find it and achieve his dream. But while this is happening, the ground begins to shake in unusual ways lately into the ground of Equestia. The Diamond Dog kingdom came into the slavery of it's old god, Rockdog, a re-purpose of the Rockdogs from the old show and son of G1 Crunch whom Divine Step himself defeated, as he came to believe that the Diamond Dogs have lost their purpose to control the grounds and put all kingdons into the underground world through "The Magic of the Ground", which is stolen power from Divine himself. With Bow-Wow under complete control and the Diamond Dogs enslaved, kingdoms began to get sucked into the ground. Now our heroes must stop and defeat Rockdog and save the Kingdoms of the world of Equestia from the mad god's deludions.
