Pang Bing is a character from the Nickelodeon television series Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness. She is an evil Siamese cat sorceress who is the main antagonist of the two-part episode "Emperor's Rule".
Biography[]
In Legends of Awesomeness[]
Centuries ago, Pang Bing was part of a peaceful group of mystics who wished to share their magic with all of China in order to promote peace, her fellow mystics being her sisters that were all created by the magical orb from being copied from their cat mother, this magical orb originating from space that intent on doing this mission. Pang Bing served as the leader of this group. In a time this group was moderately respected and even admired, and from time to time would even protect others from Ke-Pa era horrors and were seen as sagely advice givers.
However, this wasn't to last forever, when the common people of the time began to fear their powers, And when Pang Bing and her colleagues appealed to the Emperor of the time for protection, he had them imprisoned. Prior to this, Pang Bing had refused to aide that said emperor for conquest, and a result, magic discrimination was permitted and encouraged as a result, transpiring to these events. But little did this selfish idiot realized, not only would this backfire spectacularly for him later, but this would also end up breaking Pang Bing in the worst ways possible.
Pang Bing alone managed to escape while the rest of her group apparently perished, and swore revenge on all of China, and lead to her being discovered by the Mothron, Mothlock, and lead to her entering servitude in return for power. During this time, She spent centuries perfecting dark magical arts that apparently enabled her to live far longer than should have been possible, all in preparation for her eventual conquest of China.
Using her powers of mind control, Pang Bing-posing as an old, decrepit servant, attached herself to the imperial court as a retainer of Duke Zhihui, who along with several guards, was actually under her control. After the most recent Emperor retired and passed the throne to his grandson Lu Kang, Pang Bing saw the chance to at last exact her revenge and take over China. Lu proved immune to her powers due to his simple mind, but this worked in her favor as she intended to sacrifice him during an eclipse in order to increase her powers and seize control of the minds of all of China's citizens. She would also use her disguise to earn the trust of Po, the Dragon Warrior, whom Lu chose as the new head of Imperial security.
After Po overheard Pang Bing's pawns planning to eliminate Lu, the pair fled, unaware that Pang Bing's forces would beat them back to the Jade Palace in order to neutralize the threat of Shifu and the Furious Five. After tricking Po into revealing where Lu was hiding, Pang Bing revealed her true nature and explained her history and intent to conquer China. She then captured Shifu and the Furious Five while Po and Lu escaped, and traveled to the capital in preparation for the ritual that would allow her to control all of China. Pang Bing also quashed an attempt by the Kung fu masters to escape, and soon enslaved them as well.
Po and Lu eventually returned with some unlikely allies: a band of enemies known as the Brotherhood of Malfeasance whom they had released from Chorh-Gom Prison in order to fight against Pang Bing. After Po was defeated, Pang Bing offered the villains the chance to escape, which they took, unaware that they would not be able to escape the range of Pang Bing's spell. She then cast a spell on Po, unaware that she had inadvertently helped him discover the secret to resisting her control. As such, he was able to disrupt the ceremony in which she attempted to exert control of all of China with some help from the Brotherhood, who returned to aid him.
Despite this unexpected resistance, Pang Bing succeeded in taking control of the minds of everyone in China but Lu and Po, and soon set her sights on controlling the panda as well. She eventually succeeded, but not before Po was able to launch an attack that subsequently disrupted the ritual and freed all of Pang Bing's victims. Her powers diminished and her schemes thwarted, Pang Bing was taken away to prison.
Personality[]
Prior to redemption, she had a very arrogant and selfish personality, stemming from the actions of the past people of China against her. She only wanted power for herself, and did not care that the current inhabitants of China are not responsible for the crimes of their forebears. Come her redemption and she returned to a kinder persona she had back in the days of her order, if though now added to a sense of personal guilt, though would still harbor aggression to any form of discrimination, especially ANY that done so to magic well within personally felt reasons, and would immediately be empathic to those that felt the worst of it, though it depends on if they had not already "Mirrored her mistakes" in reacting to it and would be prepared to "Humble" them if she has to. She demonstrates well of being amongst the more serious lodgers and the more situationally aware of them. In cause of being a creation of a magical construct, she's Pansexual in nature as she was never defined in a strict sexual preference. She's loyal and always personally grateful to Gazelle for the kindness and is very protected of her reunited sisters as well as to Gazelle and the Lodgers.
Fighting style[]
She has the ability to zap her opponents with mystical energy blasts. She can also cast spells to control the minds of others, though this can be thwarted-at least temporarily-if one focuses on a single thought while she is attempting to control them or, as in Lu's case, is only capable of concentrating on one thought at a time. She's also demonstrated a magical flight ability and is capable of a wide verity of spells beyond what the canon episode has shown. As a result of being around Gazelle prior and since her redemption, she became slightly agile, though this may be fairly attributed to "Cat Reflexes" as well. Additionally with being an Equinox Master she's capable of the standard Equinox Fare. Should other magic user members be unreliable or if not already covered by any outside magic user, Pang Bing is certainly a great help. And since her debut in the SAF series, she has her own dragon form just like Maleficent, except it is a Chinese Dragon of equal power to both Maleficent's Dragon form and Ke-Pa.
In being around for so long she also has an enlightened capability to comprehend outer gods and understand the grander multiverse, even being able to handle the sight of The Xexaxez.
Even for the standerd size of a can she can be able to lift even those as fat as Po, though all the same she often prefers to use magical telepathy to handle heavy lifting if she has the choice to do so or to save time.
Role in the series[]
Though she is a powerful villain with potential in the SAF series, MSM at first considered it unlikely that Scroopfan would allow her to be in the series because of his anti-catism rule, which states that no cat villains are allowed. But despite that, Scroopfan did in fact had plans for Pang by having her not just a reformed member of the Shell Lodge Squad, but MSM considers making her an Equinox Master. She would later have her biggest SAF EU role in the series "Dragon Knight Revamp" and would develop a personal connection to a fellow victim of magic discrimination. (To be Added).
