After stopping the Pirate Wars, Axxus has been heralded as the one pirate lord who has been given a stronger title: the pirate conqueror, a title which was extremely rare for pirate lords in Ardalicron's past. Especially since his crew has been evolving strongly. Sacen and Csamar are married, Ovenga is under new management of Arda sytile rulings thanks to Carbon to bring an end to Ovenga's less then glamorious lifesytiles to prevent another Orelock from getting the same idea, and the Pirate Council is going to tell that he's going to make history. However, there is a new threat afoot. This time it originates from the most inhospitable and mysterious area of Ardalicron: The Phantasmagoria Triangle, which is a seemingly-cursed sector which pirates before have disappeared upon entry for millennia, especially since a member of the Pirate Council has gone missing, possibly due to arrival there. Axxus thus decides to rescue him despite the peril. Once he enters the dreaded sector, he discovers that it was all too familiar as his father used to come close to being lost from evil forces when he was a baby. This evil force was lead by someone who was an enemy of his father's he killed years ago. This threat is none other than Captain Darksund, who was resurrected by an unknown force called the Phantasmagoria, an interdimensional entity of colossal proportions that has the power to create Phantasmagorians, or beings dead or alive which have developed the ability to use more of the cerebral capacity than average. Axxus discovers that the Councilor is now a pawn just like Darksund. After a terrible encounter against the creature, it is discovered that Phantasmagoria is from a dimension where all sentient beings really DO use 10% of their brains, unlike in this reality where such a thing was all but deemed a myth. As such, the sentient beings were not that successful and lived in poverty until one individual discovered an energy that allowed him to slowly reach 100%, thus becoming Phatasmagoria, a dimensional entity which has the power of omnipresence, but only in certain dimensions. In the AUU, his omnipresence is only limited to the Phantasmagoria Triangle, and anything that entered his range was in deep trouble of becoming one with him. They learn all this from a telepathic Zyonoid witch named Phassend, who, after years of living inside this dangerous zone, has discovered how to use her telepathy to read the energy emitted by the giant entity, sense it's presence, and many other abilities that have allowed her to survive every encounter with it. Thus, with her guidance, Axxus must find a way to save the day because it is discovered that Phantasmagoria has a way of taking over the entire AUU, and it takes the most unbelievably-hidden treasure map to find what the entity is looking for. While they continue this journey, the Pirate Council sends in the Lodgers and Heroes Act into action. With Phantasmagoria and it's army preparing to create a world of omnipresence and 'eternal harmony and beauty', both groups must find each other, and put a stop to this threat.
