Tsin Shu is a Japanese raccoon dog (Tanuki) from the DreamWorks Kung Fu Panda world Japan. Being born to a Japanese guild of legendary and well-endowed tanuki warriors, dubbed Ki-Tanuki in other countries, who were masters of Ki (Japanese Chi), and lived in a Ki-endowed valley called the Ki Valley of Qi-Chan, yet they were unfortunately enslaved into a war-like nation by a greedy and outraged member of the clan named Masu Shu who was stripped of his lineage for disgracing himself with his greed by using his species' well-endowed status to cause a rookie sumo-wrestler Japanese black bear into forfeiting the match and giving him more wealth. In response to his banishment, he killed much of his fellow tanuki warriors including his brother and Tsin's father, Yoshi Shu, and poisoned the land with his own abused and tainted Ki. Yoshi was forced to take his last breath bringing his son to China where he would be adopted by Chi Master, Master Sun Bear, in the Valley of Prosperity, which itself was under the Heartless-based siege of Mothron warlord Mothlock, and trained in the ways of Chi. Upon discovering his true heritage after a mission involving his Chinese-native tanuki subspecies, dubbed Chi-Tanuki, he left and found his home still under the warmongering rule of his evil uncle. Finding his mom was alive yet was slowly dying due to abuse, he challenged his uncle in an attempt to stop him from disgracing his family name, yet Masu was too strong and far too experienced for him. However, Sun Bear used the Sacred Peach Tree of Eternal Happiness to heal him and prevent his death, and not only enhance his Chi, but combine it with Ki, giving him the power to easily banish his treacherous uncle to the Spirit Realm. Though victorious, his mother's injuries caught up with her at last and claimed her life, leaving Tsin Shu to return home with little confidence in his promise to his mother to restore their name by rallying up Chi-Tanuki to create a new Ki Valley of Qi-Chan. But because of living in the Valley of Prosperity, no tanuki wanted to join him, thus leaving him to found the Fearsome Five, consisting of the son of a former bandit male tiger named Tiger, the baboon son of baboon thief Shang Hai named Baboon, a female Evarcha falcata jumping spider former insect-based Kung Fu fight club competitor named Spider, a Grey heron former noblewoman named Heron, and a female Samar spitting cobra from the Philippines raised in China named Spitting Cobra. He still continues to make her mother's wishes come true, most notably by finding a way to defeat Mothlock, and may get that in the form of a female panda and adopted daughter of the Valley's mayor named Fa, and later on the Shell Lodgers.
