Xaldin (ザルディン Zarudin?), the "Whirlwind Lancer" (旋風の六槍 Senpū no Rokusō?, lit. "Six Lances of the Whirlwind"), is a silver- tongued Nobody that uses the wind to manipulate his six lances, named Lindworm (竜牙閃 Ryūgasen?, lit. "Dragon's Fang Flash"), and to shield himself. Xaldin's lances can transform into a dragon-shaped contraption to attack opponents with whirlwinds. He controls the lance-wielding Dragoon Nobodies.[7] Xaldin's original self was named Dilan (ディラン Diran?, misspelled as Dilin in the North American version), a palace guard working under Ansem who met Ven and later took Aqua's armor and Keyblade into the castle. Becoming a Nobody to be free of emotion, Xaldin understood the set backs of lacking a heart, but kept a clear disdain towards people who follow their hearts, especially towards the Beast.[20]

Supporting Roxas in his missions at Beast's Castle, after learning of the enchanted rose, Xaldin secretly begins his attempt to manipulate the Beast's rage to create a powerful Nobody and Heartless.[21] After first appearing in Kingdom Hearts II at Hollow Bastion with other members, Xaldin later confronts Sora in Beast's Castle, the latter forcing Xaldin to steal the Beast's mystical rose to stoke the Beast's rage. Sora and the Beast find him, and he reveals that the Organization needs Kingdom Hearts to become complete beings.[22] He then kidnaps Belle, forcing the Beast to choose whether Belle or the rose is more important to him. The plan fails when Belle gets away with the rose and Xaldin falls against Sora and the Beast, fading into nothingness. he was Organization XIII's Number III.

Xaldin's weapons.

Xaldin carries six Lances, called Lindworm. They, along with Xaldin's attacks and Dragoon Lesser Nobodies, are a reference to Final Fantasy'sDragoon Job Class. They are purple and blue, longer than six feet, each has the shape of the Nobody symbol, and one end resembles a Dragoon Nobody's "head" combined with the lower half of the Nobody logo. Xaldin only holds up to three at a time, and the rest float around him in the wind Xaldin commands.

Xaldin can use them to thrust from long distances, twirl them around himself as a form of defense, jump down on a foe with all six pointed downward, or have them grow and fuse into an enormous dragon that he rides on before firing a whirlwind from the dragon's mouth. Although, inKingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, Xaldin lines up all six of his lances in front of him, in order to block himself, supposedly in the style of a barrier or wall.

Xaldin can also wield many other lances in Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, through the Mission Mode in which equipping him with different Gearsprovides different lances.

Role in the series

Xaldin, being a Nobody that didn't revolted, was reserected by the leage purely for the porpose of trying to snag Belle. Fagin and Ratigan would not be alone for their efforts in trying to obtain Prince Adam's Heartless and Belle for Mirage's purposes. It turns out that Xaldin would also be appearing to reprise his KH 2 role as a mutual ally to the Villain League. It could be that his appearance in Beauty and the Beast takes place before Spirited Away, and that he was briefly corrupted by Mirage to aid Fagin and Ratigan's evil plans, before being snapped out of it through his death. He was reserected by Axel, and cause Xaldin still had memories of the Radient Garden guard's code of honor, he easily agreed to joined him. Right now, Dilan is trying all that he can to aid his fellow Org members in taking down Xemnas for what he nearly did to them.
